Boating Skills and Seamanship The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course is a comprehensive boating course designed for both the experienced and novice boater. The course consists of eight core required two-hour lessons, plus five elective lessons providing knowledge for handling boats under all conditions.

GPS for Mariners The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's GPS for Mariners (GPSFM) course focuses on the GPS equipment typically owned by the recreational boater. While the presentation allows boaters to bring and use their already-owned hand-held GPS units to class, it will also teach those who do not own their own hand-held GPS unit to learn how to use one.

Suddenly in Command The captain becomes incapacitated or falls overboard. You are Suddenly in Command. This boating safety primer is designed for those not generally at the helm, and will help you to be prepared with the basics in case of an emergency.

Introduction to Basic Boating Safety Introduction to Basic Boating Safety is designed as a seminar for the novice boater to provide the most important safety needed. It focuses on safety equipment and best practices while also encouraging additional boater safety classes, a certificate course, and vessel safety checks.

Paddler's Guide Paddler's Guide to Safety has been prepared by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in cooperation with the American Canoe Association. It is designed as a stand-alone course that can precede or supplement on-the-water experience.

Personal Watercraft Personal Watercraft Class is a comprehensive Personal Watercraft (PWC) seminar course designed to enhance safety, skills, and knowledge for PWC enthusiasts. It is designed to teach participants the basics for safe PWC operations to avoid collisions, and be a courteous and responsble PWC operator.

Sailing Skills The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Sailing Skills and Seamanship Course (SS&S) is a comprehensive course that will prepare a sailor with the basic information needed to operate sailboats under a variety of conditions. This course does not lead to a boater education certificate.

State Boating Safety The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's State Boating Safety Class (State) course, is boating safety class specific to your state. Satisfactory completion will lead to your boating certificate.

Waterfowl Hunting and Boating Safety Waterfowl Hunting and Boating Safety is designed for hunters who are not regular boaters. Many hunters are not fulltime boaters and may not be aware of boating safety issues. 70% of hunters who die in boating accidents fall overboard as a result of improperly loading the boat or having a hunting dog move around too much.

Kids and Paddle Craft Kids and Paddle Craft is a paddle craft course designed for pre-teens. It can be used in a classroom, assembly, or community setting.

Boats n Kids Boats N' Kids is a hands-on course for kids that demonstrates important boating safety messages. This versatile seminar can be conducted for students in either a small classroom or large assembly setting. Topics include choosing the right life jacket, boarding a boat safely, being safe in a boat, cold water immersion, falling overboard, and environmental stewardship.

Water and Kids Water N' Kids course is designed to enhance safety, skills, and knowledge for students ages 8 to 10 years (third and fourth grade). It teaches basic water safety topics to young students, including swimming safety, boating, rip currents, life jackets, safe environment, among other topics.
